About Us

All about me

Hi & G'day, I am a Golden Labrador Retriever, born May 2008 in South Australia and I live to eat, sleep, walk and to love my family at all times.  This is all about me, because for dogs everything in life is all about me!

I have many talents that I use to entertain my owners and through my awesome adorableness they give me food, love, cuddles and outdoor adventures.  I am a bit like that big red dog on the TV in that my owners love made me bigger and bigger, however in my case big means round and fat instead of tall.  Although, I am big this does not stop me from trying to be a lap dog and sitting on laps and having cuddles is the best thing in the world.

I would like to tell you that my best talents are surfing, skate boarding and doggy agility because I have tried all these things and they are cool, however my real talents are keeping my owners happy through my larger than life doggy personality, acts of complete random silliness and goofy looks.

I hope you like my blog and it makes you happy.

Happiness for humans is like food to a Labrador, believe me you can never have too much.

Love, Meg.  WWOOXX (Woof, Woof, Hug, Hug, Lick, Lick)

After all this blogging I am hungry - where's the TV remote!
(I know what you are thinking, but I have grown out of eating remotes,
I just want to relax and watch my favourite chick flick - Marley & Me)

About my owners (family)

My owners are a family of Pet lovers.  They immigrated to Australia at the end of 2007 from the UK.  Meg's adopted father introduced me to my adopted mother as a wedding anniversary present in 2008. Unfortunately, my adopted mother suffered spinal damage in 2008 and lost feeling in her legs.  I wanted to help her and I hoped that she would be able to take me for walks.  She tried very hard but walking was not possible and she was in terrible pain.  Later in 2008 she had surgery but this did not work and she remained in terrible pain so she had repeat surgery in 2009. Unfortunately, complications caused quadriparesis and she is permanently disabled, and she has constant terrible pain.  She now has a mobility scooter and we go out together at least once a day, which is really great fun.  My day time job, when I am not blogging, is to look after and entertain my family.  I just do what comes naturally and I love my family very much and I know they love me too.  This blog was started as a journey to help recovery and coming to terms with disability. My mother enjoys writing short stories and my father is a full time carer for her and site administrator.

Our hopes and fears for the Mrs Meggins Blog

We hope that this blog will bring us purpose and happiness.  Purpose in that we can regularly work on this blog to make it better and better.  We hope that through purpose we can improve happiness for ourselves and others.

We hope that you can send us pictures and videos of your cute and amazing pets, because we will enjoy seeing them and we will put the best on our site.

We hope to be more than just a cute picture site people may visit once and once only.  We hope to provide competitions and to tell you all about Meg's crazy adventures and bedtime stories and one day we hope that we will have an ever lasting diary that will bring joy and happiness to everyone. We hope that you keep coming back to our site for each new instalment of our adventures.

We hope to make a modest return for keeping this site going since my father gave up work to provide full time care to my mother.  We also hope we can donate to charity through appropriate partnerships.

We fear that people are not always the same as they appear on the internet, so we hope that everyone remembers that this is intended as a family website.

We fear negative feedback and hope that if you do not like our site you simply move on and do not come back.  If you like this site we hope you will tell us your positive comments and tell your friends all about us.

We hope this site remains a source of positive emotional reward for us.

Our expectations are low but ambitions are high.  We hope and fear that one day it will lead to a book, T-shirt, charity donations and if dreams come true a movie too!

We hope that this site will be a great journey and that you can share and enjoy it with us.
